There are many types of marketing messages, but creating those that leave lasting impressions on consumers is difficult. Here are tips for boosting your brand voice to ensure consumers always think highly of your company and products.

CPG brand voice is an important aspect of any CPG marketing strategy as it impacts the way your brand is perceived. You want to leave a favorable impression on consumers so they think of your brand when they want to purchase products like yours.

If you haven't taken steps like these before, the new year is a great time to start.

Give Something Away

There's no getting around it; people like free stuff. Giving away a small gift with each purchase is one way to generate a favorable impression with your consumers and show them you value their business. Giveaways can also be a way to introduce consumers to new products they may want to purchase in the future, giving them a chance to see the quality of your products and how they might be of use to them.

Say "Thank You"

Saying "thank you" after each order or purchase is another way to develop your CPG brand voice and leave a favorable impression on your target audience. For an in-person purchase, you can verbally thank the consumer, then slip a small card or flyer into the bag that conveys this message. For an online purchase, thanks can be sent via email or text.

Develop Consumer Relationships

Developing consumer relationships beyond purchases or service requests is a great way to show your brand voice in your interactions with your target audience. This should be a two-way conversation, which you can start with communications that show some of your brand's personality. Asking questions or inviting your social media followers to ask questions of you are two great ways to start. The better you know your consumers, the better you can tailor your CPG marketing to their preferences. It's also fun and your community will love it.

Show Respect

There's nothing worse than a consumer interaction that turns sour, whether your team responds badly to an inquiry or you have a disgruntled consumer determined to push your buttons. These conflicts can be resolved without ugliness on your part if you remember to show respect to consumers in everything you say and do.

Distinguish Your Brand

Branding 101 tells brands to do whatever it takes to figure out what makes your brand unique and different from everything else out there. The best time to do this is before you even begin marketing and selling your products, but it's never too late. Once you identify your brand's specific qualities, you will need to convey them as clearly as you can in all your marketing materials. When you've done this, your brand will stand out from the crowd and be memorable to everyone who encounters it.
