Best AI Writing Tools of 2024: Comprehensive SEO Checklist

A graphic that says: Best AI Writing Tools of 2024: Comprehensive SEO Checklist.

Do you struggle with copywriting? It’s not surprising. Whether you’re writing product descriptions, regular blog posts, or PPC ads, there’s a huge volume of work involved.

It’s not just the writing—it’s coming up with ideas, crafting titles, and developing outlines as well.

That’s where the best AI copywriting tools come in.

Do you like the idea of giving an AI blog writer a few instructions and letting it generate engaging copy while you’re focusing on more pressing tasks?

Well, now it’s possible, thanks to technology. These are some of the best AI writing tools, how they work, and how they could transform your content marketing strategy.

Key Takeaways

  • AI writing tools use algorithms and natural language models to generate written content automatically. They can create everything from photo captions and product descriptions to articles and blog posts.
  • You can use them to create content from scratch or improve and refine copy you’ve written yourself.
  • AI copy generators streamline content creation and enable businesses to create content at scale.
  • They can also include features like data analytics tools to monitor content performance and suggest improvements.

What Is AI Copywriting and How Does It Work?

An AI content generator is computer-generated writing produced with natural language processing tools.

First, decide what you want to write about and what content you need. Second, select which of the best AI copywriting tools you want to use. Then, you set parameters for the AI blog writer or copywriting tool to follow. In some cases, you can even request a particular tone to guide the tool.

Once the machine receives the instructions, it generates content based on these parameters by analyzing similar preexisting content from around the web and processing it into something new and plagiarism-free. It’s like having an AI copywriter at your fingertips.

Since AI has become a firm part of the marketing world, you can bet that many businesses are using AI for writing everything from emails to blog posts.

According to a Forbes Advisor survey, one in three businesses plan to use an AI tool to create website content.

But learning how to use AI writing tools well is vital, as auto-generated copy can appear formulaic, making it difficult to stand out from competitors.

Why Should You Use an AI Copywriting Tool?

There are a few reasons why marketers and copywriters might use AI for writing.

  • The best AI writing tools save you time. These tools can analyze data much quicker than humans, so they can instantly generate sections, outlines, or full articles if that’s what you want.
  • If you need bulk content, such as product descriptions, an AI copywriter handles these jobs for you. That leaves you free to focus on more demanding marketing tasks like lead generation and KPI tracking.
  • AI writing tools can save you from the dreaded “writer’s block” that every writer experiences at some point. Whether you need help brainstorming ideas or generating some content, an AI blog writer tool can help you get going again.

If you’re a busy content creator with multiple deadlines or dreams of scaling your content production, it’s worth exploring how AI writing software may help you. In addition, if you are a general marketer with many different roles, you can implement an AI copywriter to help with areas like creating meta titles and meta descriptions.

There are even some free AI writing tools for freelancers and solo marketers on a budget.

AI Copywriting Limitations

Although AI tech is impressive, AI copywriting tools don’t write anything truly original. They’re “fed” articles and content written by human copywriters and essentially mix them up to create something new.

What’s more, AI copywriter tools can’t replicate human emotion. And emotion matters in marketing. When it comes to consumer buying behavior, feelings are more influential than any other variable.

In short, while it’s great for bulk projects, you might not find an AI content generator helpful for crafting those more emotive posts that need a personal touch and true creative thought.

Also, AI writing tools sometimes see patterns where they don’t exist, causing them to supply inaccurate or just plain wrong information—a phenomenon known as AI hallucinations.

Finally, the AI tools we have right now aren’t great at picking up “awkward” phrasing. Plus, readers are becoming savvier about picking up on AI stock terms and phrases, such as “in a fast-changing landscape” and the like. So although the writing (usually) makes grammatical sense, you still need to copyedit it.

An AI writing tool or content generator can support your marketing efforts, but they’re not a complete substitute for human content creation.

1. Ubersuggest’s AI for Writing

If you’re new to using AI for writing, you probably want an easy way to test its possibilities. That’s why I developed my own tool.

It’s an ideal starting point for experimentation, and I’ve made article creation as straightforward as possible with my AI tool. Just head over to the Ubersuggest AI Writer, enter your keyword into the long white box, and click ‘start.’

Ubersuggest's AI Writing tool.

First, enter the keyword you want an article on. For this example, I chose ‘digital marketing.’

Then you select a title from the list provided. You don’t always have to use it at the very end. However, the AI copywriter tool bases a lot of the titles on what people are searching for.

A list of potential titles from Ubersuggest's AI writing tool.

Now, choose a meta description. Like titles, the Ubersuggest tool also bases meta descriptions on popular keywords.

After that, choose some subheadings. Pick the ones that work best for your article, and remember you can always adjust the text later on.

Finally, it’s time for Ubersuggest to start working its magic and producing some content:

Content produced by Ubersuggest's AI content marketing tool.

This gives you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from AI-generated content.

The most important thing you need to understand about AI content is that it’s never supposed to be the finished product. It’s a starting ground.

Use AI writing software for a rough first draft, then modify articles with your unique voice and tone, integrate it with plenty of your own content, add stats, and incorporate quotes.

Most importantly of all, humanize and personalize your content so that it’s not just another generic piece.

For example, in the digital marketing article above, in the “create an online presence” section, I would go in-depth on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest on how you can use them for marketing. I would also include screenshots, so each step is clear.

Under the “promote your brand” section, I would discuss ads and other ways to promote your brand, such as running promotions, sales during holidays, or even doing webinars.

I would give examples of other successful and unsuccessful campaigns that businesses have run and break down what you can learn from them.

The ‘grow your audience’ section already talks about what to do if you have no followers. They are all good tips, but they’re too surface-level. I would dive deep into each one. Get granular in your approach to growing your audience through engaging with other accounts and potential customers online.

Ubersuggest can do a lot, but it’s not the only tool in town. Here are some of the best AI copywriting tools around.

Some AI copy generators have the ability to customize content according to your brand voice and style, but it is often only available at higher pricing tiers.
